British swimmer Matt Wylie gave a fantastic talk at this mornings assembly. Matt, who has cerebral palsy, competes as a parasport athlete competing as a S9 classification swimmer competing mainly in freestyle events.
Matt was selected for the Great Britain team at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio, his first Summer Paralympics, where he won gold in the Men’s 50m Freestyle S9 competition. Matt even brought his gold medal in for us today and some children even got to wear it!
Matt is from Washington so this made it even more interesting to see how much he has achieved. Matt especially loved our welcome tree and how children have put their own ideas and thoughts into what they would like to achieve in life.
Ask your child what they have learnt from Matt today.
What a fantastic morning . Matt is such an inspiration!
